Thousands of fans flocked to Nottingham's Old Market Square for a civic tribute to the Master Manager (Sunday, September 26th, 2004). Dignitaries from Nottingham and Derby gave speeches and a big screen showed highlights of Cloughie's career.
Fans sang the football anthem Abide With Me and there was a minute's silence. Cloughie's captain John McGovern was applauded as he gave a personal tribute.
Frank Sinatra's My Way accompanied television clips of the Master Manager's career.
