It was back in March 1993 that Brian Clough received the Freedom of Nottingham. As well as visiting the Robin Hood Statue and being greeted at Wollaton Hall by a carriage and horses, Cloughie attended a special ceremony at Nottingham's Council House.

Fans gathered in the Old Market Square and the Master Manager spoke to them from the Council House balcony.  A video of that appearance has been published (2020), in which Cloughie tells the crowd:

"Don't forget I love you!"

In the video (above), Cloughie tells the waiting crowd: "I can't believe you're still out there, with it being so cold." He also described what the Freedom of Nottingham meant to him: "What you've done for me...you've got me the highest thing I've ever won."
